The cockpit is the recessed part in the deck
where the helmsman sits or stands.
It tends to have some benches.
It houses the outside navigation and systems interfaces,
like the compass, chartplotter, and so on.
It also houses the mainsheet traveler and winches for the jib.
Most boats are set up so that
the entire vessel can be operated from the cockpit
(hence the name).

CENTERBOARDS
She has two (2) centerboards. A main board and a trail board.
There are construction details aboard.
It is lifted via a 1/2" spectra stainless steel wire cable through
a set of sheaves and to a hydraulic captive reel winch.
The aft board is solid bronze and believed to be approximately 600 lbs.
It also has a 5/16" 7 x 19 stainless steel wire cable to a captive reel winch.
THROUGH-HULLS
There are approximately thirty-two (32) bronze through-hull fittings.
These do not include the transducers
and the stainless steel discharges in the transom.
All of the bronze through-hull fittings are fitted
with either bronze ball valves or bronze seacocks.
All are incorporated into the yacht's bonding system.
There are internal basket type sea strainers where necessary.

The drive train is long with two piece stainless shafts
and five (5) bearings per side.

ENGINE ROOM & MACHINERY SPACES
The engine room is below the main salon sole
and the pump room is below the galley sole.
The best access to the engine room from day to day
is via the galley and there is a pass through the bulkhead
from the pump room to the engine room.
The salon soles are removable for better access to the main engines.
Both machinery spaces have good DC lighting and are well kept.

INTERIOR
The interior is laid out for six (6) guests
in three (3) cabins aft and four (4) crew in two (2) cabins forward.
There is fairly good head room throughout and good storage space.
There is good DC lighting throughout.
The cabin soles are all teak and holly with removable floorboards.
The overheads are Mica held in place with varnished teak slats.
All the joiner work is solid teak trim with teak veneer.
Forward the crew quarters and galley have corain counter tops
and Mica or vinyl wall covering in places.
