LEFT KNEE M.R.I.:
Clinical information: Recurrent catching left knee.
Study performed according to the usual protocol.
Findings:
Abnormal signal involving the bone marrow in subchondral location under the
medial aspect of the lateral tibial plateau, near the tibial spine. This
focal abnormal signal is measuring about 7mm on TI weighted images and is
slightly more extended on fat saturated images. There however no
identifiable over line cartilaginous defect. The lateral et medial meniscus
are normal, The cruciate ligaments are normal. Mild thickening and
heterogeneous appearance of the proximal and anterior portion of the medial
collateral ligament. The lateral collateral ligament is normal. No joint
effusion. No peri-articular soft tissue abnormality otherwise.

CONCLUSION:

Focal abnormal subchondral signal consistent with sequel of a bone confusion
(trabecular micro-fractures), The increased signal of facet weighted images
suggest a subacute trauma with residuel bone marrow edema. Mild partial
tear of the medial collateral ligament.
