Rosacea
Rosacea is one of the most common skin disease flows, and the frames around 5-10
percent of the population. The condition is characterized by redness of the face,
visible blood vessels , flushing and an acne-like rash. The disease affects both
sebaceous glands and blood vessels in the face.
Cause of Rosacea
We still do not know what is the cause of rosacea, but the disease may be hereditary.
As many as 40 percent of those who have rosacea have a relative with the same
condition. Increased blood circulation and sensitive blood vessels contributing to
the rash. It was believed earlier that the disease is caused by a mite in the skin
called Demodex folliculorum, but recent research has shown that this microbe is not
the main cause of the disease - although some still believe it is an aggravating
factor. The latest research on rosacea is the detection of increased levels of
cathelicidin and serine protease (antimicrobial peptides). High levels of these
substances leads to inflammation and new blood vessel formation. Read more about
